Trump Appoints Elon Musk to Head New Department of Government Efficiency

President-elect Donald Trump announced Wednesday that Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, along with entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, will head the newly created Department of Government Efficiency. This initiative is a part of Trump's "Save America" agenda, focused on cutting government bureaucracy, eliminating unnecessary regulations, and reducing wasteful spending.

In a statement, Trump highlighted the significance of Musk and Ramaswamy’s roles, saying they will help "dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure federal agencies." He praised the two as "wonderful Americans" who are key to achieving the goals of the "Save America" movement.

Musk, who has been a prominent supporter in Trump's re-election campaign, expressed enthusiasm for the role, stating that the new department will "send shockwaves through the system" and target government waste. Ramaswamy, who previously ran against Trump in the Republican primary, has since endorsed the president-elect and will join Musk in leading the agency.

According to Trump's statement, Musk and Ramaswamy will work closely with the White House and the Office of Management and Budget, bringing "an entrepreneurial approach to government." They will serve as outside advisors, offering guidance to implement sweeping structural reforms.
