Swiggy Launches ‘Pyng’ App to Help Professionals List and Manage Services

Foodtech giant Swiggy has entered the professional services marketplace with the launch of its new app, Pyng Professional, designed to help professionals such as nutritionists, yoga instructors, life coaches, and designers manage their businesses.

Available on both Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store, Pyng Professional provides an all-in-one platform for professionals to list their services, track bookings, manage schedules, and monitor earnings.

Features of Pyng Professional

The app description highlights several features aimed at streamlining professional services:

  • Centralized Dashboard: View, accept, and track orders, including consultations, digital product sales, and webinar bookings.
  • Scheduling and Management: Professionals can schedule services, set availability, update pricing, and manage bookings.
  • Earnings Tracker: A built-in tool to track payouts and monitor earnings.

“…Pyng isn’t just an app; it’s your business manager, your assistant, and your cheerleader all rolled into one,” the app description emphasizes.

Swiggy’s Service Expansion Strategy

Pyng’s launch follows Swiggy's ongoing efforts to diversify its offerings and cater to a broader audience. Recent reports had suggested that Swiggy was piloting a services marketplace under the brand name ‘Yello’, aimed at connecting customers with professionals such as lawyers, astrologers, and dieticians. Pyng appears to be the evolved version of that initiative.

In addition to Pyng, Swiggy has introduced a slew of new services:

  • SNACC App: Launched earlier today, this app delivers food in 15 minutes.
  • Swiggy Bolt: Introduced in October last year, it ensures delivery of quick-to-prepare dishes in 10 minutes.
  • Swiggy Scenes: Rolled out last month, this service enables users to book parties and events at partner restaurants.
  • One BLCK Membership: A premium invite-only membership launched in December 2024.
  • Kitchen Equipment Assistance: A service introduced to help restaurant partners source equipment efficiently.

Swiggy has also partnered with PharmEasy to pilot 10-minute medicine delivery in select Bengaluru areas.

Competitive Landscape

The launch of Pyng comes as Swiggy faces stiff competition in the foodtech and quick commerce sectors. Rivals like Zomato and Zepto each raised over $1 billion last year to enhance their offerings.

Swiggy itself has been on an expansion spree following its stock market debut in November 2024, where it listed at INR 412 on the BSE, a 6% premium over its IPO price of INR 390 per share.

With Pyng, Swiggy is not just extending its reach but also capitalizing on the booming gig economy and the growing demand for professional services.
