Trump Removes Biden's Ban on Bomb Deliveries to Israel, Says “Now On Their Way”

President Donald Trump has instructed the U.S. military to lift a hold imposed by the Biden administration on the delivery of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel. The move comes amid Israel’s ongoing military operations in Gaza.

A White House source confirmed that Trump directed the military to release the weapons, which had previously been held back due to concerns raised by the Biden administration. Biden had imposed the hold, citing the potential impact of the bombs on civilian populations, particularly in Gaza’s Rafah area.  

Announcing the decision on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated, “A lot of things that were ordered and paid for by Israel, but have not been sent by Biden, are now on their way!” He did not provide additional details.  

The decision has reignited debates over U.S. military aid to Israel, as human rights organizations continue to criticize Israel for its military actions in Gaza. Protesters in the U.S. have also called for an arms embargo, but Washington maintains its stance of supporting Israel’s right to defend itself against Iran-backed groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.  

The conflict escalated following Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel, which killed about 1,200 people and resulted in the abduction of 250 hostages. Israel’s military response in Gaza has led to over 47,000 deaths, according to the Gaza health ministry, and prompted accusations of genocide and war crimes, which Israel denies.  

A ceasefire, implemented a week ago, has enabled the release of several Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners. However, tensions remain high as the U.S. continues to back Israel with military aid.
