Bengaluru Shocker: Techie, Wife Poison Children, Die By Suicide

Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a family of four, including a 38-year-old techie, his wife, and their two young children, was found dead in their rented home in the RMV 2nd Stage area of Bengaluru. Police suspect the case to be a murder-suicide.
The deceased have been identified as Anup Kumar (38), his wife Rakhi (35), their 5-year-old daughter Anupriya, and 2-year-old son Priyansh. Originally from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Anup Kumar worked as a software consultant in a private firm in Bengaluru.
The grim discovery was made on Monday morning when the family’s house help arrived for work but received no response despite repeated knocking. Alarmed, the house help alerted neighbors, who subsequently informed the police. Upon entering the residence, authorities found the bodies of the couple and their children.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the parents poisoned their children before taking their own lives by hanging. According to reports, the couple was under emotional stress, possibly due to their elder daughter Anupriya’s health condition. Anupriya, a child with special needs, may have been a source of worry for the family, as revealed by the house help’s statement.
The police noted that the family appeared to be leading a normal life, with plans to visit Pondicherry over the weekend. Their luggage had been packed on Sunday, indicating no outward signs of distress. The family employed three staff members, including two cooks and a caregiver for the children, each paid Rs. 15,000 per month.
No suicide note has been recovered from the scene so far. The Sadashivanagar Police have registered a case and are investigating further to uncover the exact circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
