New Delhi: Donald Trump has officially secured Wisconsin, bringing his total to 279 electoral votes, surpassing the 270 threshold to claim victory. He is now projected to return to the White House as the 47th President of the United States after defeating incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris, who currently stands at 223 electoral votes.
The 78-year-old Republican leader described his win as a “magnificent victory for the American people” and called it one of the most remarkable comebacks in U.S. political history. He also referenced a previous assassination attempt in July, stating, “God spared my life for a reason.”
Trump’s success is partly attributed to a Republican sweep in seven key swing states, reversing the Democrats' 6-1 advantage in 2020 to a 7-0 lead for Republicans. With victories in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and North Carolina, and leads in Arizona, Michigan, and Nevada, the Republican Party has made a significant comeback.
