PM Modi Takes Oath for Historic Third Consecutive Term, Matching Nehru's Record

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was sworn in for a historic third consecutive term at 7:15 PM on Sunday in a grand ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan. At 73 years old, PM Modi has now equaled the record set by former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, who also served three consecutive terms.

The ceremony was attended by top leaders from India's neighboring countries and the Indian Ocean region. Special guests included Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, and Vice-President of Seychelles Ahmed Afif.
