As the 2023 ODI World Cup in India draws near, people are eagerly waiting for the India vs Pakistan match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 15. However, hotel prices in the city have become very expensive due to the high demand.

As a result, some fans from different parts of the country and the world are considering a different option. They are now looking to stay in hospitals in Ahmedabad that offer amenities like breakfast and dinner. This way, they can find a more affordable and convenient place to stay during the exciting cricket event.

Dr. Paras Shah, a hospital worker in Ahmedabad, shared that some fans are opting to stay in hospitals during the World Cup to save money on accommodation and also get a full-body health check-up. These fans are willing to book different types of rooms, from deluxe to suite, as long as they can get a place to stay. However, the hospital is being careful about accepting too many advance bookings from non-resident Indians (NRIs) because their main focus is on taking care of patients who need medical attention.

Dr. Paras Shah mentioned that some people, including his friends from the USA, are eager to stay in his hospital during the World Cup. They are willing to book any available room, from deluxe to regular, because they want to watch the India vs. Pakistan match. Additionally, they see this as an opportunity to use the medical facilities at the hospital. However, since the hospital has limited rooms, they are being careful in accepting advance bookings from people coming from other countries. This is because their main focus is on providing care and medical services to patients who need them.

On October 15, hotel room prices in Ahmedabad skyrocketed, with some costs reaching more than 20 times their usual rates, going beyond Rs 59,000. For instance, ITC's Welcomhotel in Ahmedabad charged a whopping Rs 72,000 on that date.

Furthermore, the report mentioned that on October 15, many other hotels in Ahmedabad, like TC Narmada and Courtyard by Marriott, were fully booked, and no rooms were available.

Aside from the India vs Pakistan match, Ahmedabad will also be hosting the opening match of the tournament between England and New Zealand, as well as the final match on November 19.
