13-Year-Old Vaibhav Suryavanshi Shines as India Crush UAE to Reach U-19 Asia Cup Semifinals

Thirteen-year-old cricket sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi lived up to his growing reputation as India cruised to a commanding 10-wicket victory over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the U-19 Asia Cup. With this win, India secured a spot in the tournament’s semifinals, set to face Sri Lanka next.

Batting first after winning the toss, UAE struggled against India's disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for a modest 137 in 44 overs. Right-arm medium pacer Yudhajit Guha led the charge with figures of 3/15, while Chetan Sharma (2/27) and Hardik Raj (2/28) supported with two wickets each.

India's openers, Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre, made quick work of the chase. Suryavanshi smashed an unbeaten 76 off 46 balls, including three boundaries and four towering sixes, most of which landed in the cow corner region. Mhatre contributed with an equally impressive 67 off 51 balls, striking four boundaries and four sixes. India completed the chase in just 16.1 overs without losing a wicket.

A Rising Star in Indian Cricket

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been making waves in the cricketing world, recently becoming the youngest player to be picked in the Indian Premier League auction. The Rajasthan Royals acquired him for ₹1.1 crore, making him the youngest ever to achieve this milestone. His performance in this match reaffirmed the immense potential behind the hype.

India's journey in the tournament has been a mix of highs and lows. After a disappointing opening loss to Pakistan by 43 runs, they bounced back with a 211-run thrashing of Japan. Their dominant performance against UAE now sets the stage for an exciting semifinal clash against Group B toppers Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, Group A leaders Pakistan will face Bangladesh in the other semifinal, with both Pakistan and Sri Lanka remaining unbeaten in the group stages.
