Mumbai: In a tragic hit-and-run case, 25-year-old model Shivani Singh lost her life after being struck by a speeding water tanker in Bandra on Friday evening. A resident of Malad, Singh was riding pillion on a motorcycle with her friend when the accident occurred on Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Road around 8 PM.
According to eyewitness accounts, the water tanker collided with the motorcycle, causing Singh to be flung off by the force of the impact. Tragically, she came under the wheels of the heavy vehicle and succumbed to her injuries. Her friend, who was driving the motorcycle, survived the incident.
The tanker driver reportedly abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene immediately after the accident. Singh was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.
Police are investigating the case and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify and apprehend the driver.
This incident has once again raised concerns over road safety and reckless driving in Mumbai, particularly in areas with heavy traffic.
