Singapore Scrambles Fighter Jets After Bomb Threat on Air India Express Flight
Singapore scrambled fighter jets to escort an Air India Express flight from Madurai after a bomb threat was received. The plane landed safely at Changi Airport, and investigations are ongoing.
On Tuesday, two Singapore Armed Forces fighter jets were deployed to escort an Air India Express flight following a bomb threat. The plane, operating flight IX 684 from Madurai to Singapore, received the threat before landing safely at Changi Airport.
Singapore's Defence Minister, Ng Eng Hen, stated that Air India Express had received an email warning of a bomb on board flight AXB684. In response, two RSAF F-15SG jets escorted the aircraft away from populated areas, and it landed safely at Changi Airport at 10:04 p.m. local time.

Ground-based air defense systems and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team were also activated. After landing, the plane was handed over to airport police, and investigations are currently ongoing.
Minister Ng Eng Hen praised the professionalism and quick action of the Singapore Armed Forces and security teams for ensuring the safety of all involved. The number of passengers onboard the flight has not yet been confirmed, and Air India Express has not released an official statement regarding the incident.
