Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign: Over 40 million selfies shared on the government portal to mark India's 77th Independence Day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for a unique social media effort gains momentum as citizens change their display images to the national flag.
According to its website, the Har Ghar Tiranga website of the federal government has received more than 40 million selfies from citizens of the nation. The promotion will run from August 13–15, which is India’s 77th anniversary of its independence. Prior to the major Independence Day celebration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged everyone to take part in the campaign. As part of a “unique effort” in advance of the significant day, the Prime Minister urged the public via social media to change the display image of their social media handles to the national flag.
The government has received 43,644,013 (4.3 million) selfies with the tricolor, according to the Har Ghar Tiranga website. The website’s home page has been updated to include a selfie upload feature.
A user can post a selfie with the flag or a digital Tiranga when the portal is opened.
The viewer will see images of Union ministers, celebrities, and athletes holding the Indian flag as they scroll down.
Several celebrations will take place for a week on today, the Amrit Kal’s second Independence Day. Silent processions will be held on Partition Day (August 14), commemorating the horrors of the Partition of India and paying respect to the victims of the violence that occurred during that time, in addition to the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
