Unlock the future with Google's revolutionary AI, Gemini! Integrated into Bard and Pixel 8 Pro, it promises unparalleled performance. CEO Sundar Pichai's reveal sparks early excitement in Search experiences. Developers access Gemini Pro, while Bard Advanced unveils cutting-edge capabilities. Explore how Gemini redefines language models, surpassing human benchmarks. The AI revolution has arrived – don't miss out!"
In a significant move, Google is making its cutting-edge AI model, Gemini, available worldwide starting Wednesday. This model will be seamlessly integrated into Bard and the latest Pixel 8 Pro smartphones.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai emphasized Gemini's "state-of-the-art performance across many leading benchmarks" and highlighted its optimization for different sizes: Ultra, Pro, and Nano. Pichai described Gemini 1.0 as the realization of the vision set when Google formed DeepMind earlier this year, marking one of the company's most substantial science and engineering efforts.
Gemini is designed to be multimodal, capable of understanding and combining various types of information, including text, code, audio, image, and video. Pichai demonstrated Gemini's ability to perceive like a human eye, evaluate in real-time, and suggest actions.
Gemini Nano will debut in Pixel 8 Pro, powering features like Summarise in the Recorder app and Smart Reply via Gboard for platforms like WhatsApp. The rollout will extend to other Google products and services, such as Search, Ads, Chrome, and Duet AI.
Google has already initiated experiments with Gemini in Search, aiming to enhance the Search Generative Experience (SGE) with a 40% reduction in latency in English in the US.
Developers and enterprise customers can access Gemini Pro through the Gemini API in Google AI Studio or Google Cloud Vertex AI starting December 13. Android developers will leverage Gemini Nano via AICore, available in Android 14 on Pixel 8 Pro devices. Gemini Ultra is undergoing trust and safety checks but will be available for early experimentation and feedback before its broader release.
Bard will receive a specifically tuned version of Gemini Pro for advanced reasoning, planning, and understanding. Google plans to introduce Bard Advanced, offering users first access to advanced models like Gemini Ultra in early 2024.
Addressing concerns about hallucinations in AI models, Eli Collins, VP, Product, Google DeepMind, stated improvements in factuality in Gemini, especially in question answering and quality. Gemini Ultra surpasses human experts on 30 of 32 widely-used academic benchmarks, achieving a milestone in language model research and development. The model also excels in understanding, explaining, and generating high-quality code in popular programming languages like Python, Java, C++, and Go.
