CM Mohan Yadav's First Step for the People of Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has outlined the new government's priorities, ranging from law and order to education, e-governance, and tribal welfare. Following the first cabinet meeting, CM Yadav addressed the media, emphasizing that the decisions made were forward-thinking and aimed at benefiting the state and its citizens.

The initial directive from CM Yadav was to impose a ban on loudspeakers violating decibel norms at religious places or elsewhere. The ADG-CID has been designated as the nodal officer at the police headquarters to oversee this measure.

Other key decisions include a prohibition on unlicensed buying and selling of meat and fish in open urban areas, the establishment of a 'PM Excellence College' in every district, legal action for the cancellation of bail for 'habitual criminals,' mandatory uploading of certificates and marksheets on DigiLocker, and an increase in tendu patta payout to Rs 4,000.

Of particular significance is CM Mohan Yadav's order regarding noise cancellation, restricting the use of sound amplifiers (loudspeakers/DJs) to prescribed standards. Flying squads will be deployed in all districts to enforce compliance at religious institutions and public venues immediately. The government has cited provisions of the Madhya Pradesh Noise Control Act, Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules 2000, and guidelines from the Supreme Court and high court to support this decision.

Furthermore, every district is slated to have a 'PM Excellence College,' aligning with the New Education Policy and offering modern facilities. The initiative will commence with 52 colleges in the next session, aiming to upgrade the existing 570 government colleges in Madhya Pradesh.

In a bid to streamline documentation for students, all 16 government and 53 private universities under the higher education department will be required to upload degrees/marksheets on DigiLocker.

The cabinet has also endorsed the implementation of the 'cyber tehsil' system in all 55 districts starting January 1, 2024, enabling paperless online processing within 14 days. Additionally, measures will be taken to cancel bail for habitual criminals, following CrPC sections 437, 438, and 439.

A noteworthy decision is the hike in tendu leaf collection payment from Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000 per bag, benefiting over 35 lakh tendu leaf collectors with an additional remuneration of Rs 162 crore.

CM Yadav, however, refrained from addressing questions regarding the continuity of the Ladli Behna Scheme during the press conference.
