Due to heavy rain in Bengaluru, all schools, colleges, and anganwadi centers in the city will be closed on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert, warning of more rain. The government has also suggested that private companies allow their employees to work from home.
Since early Tuesday morning, Bengaluru has seen constant rainfall, leading to waterlogging and traffic jams in many areas. While schools and anganwadi centers will remain closed, government colleges will stay open. However, principals of these colleges have been given safety instructions to protect students.
Many schools will hold online classes for older students, and younger students have been assigned homework to do at home. Additionally, Thursday, October 17, will be a holiday for Valmiki Jayanti.
The government is keeping an eye on the situation and has advised people to stay safe during the heavy rains.
