24-Year-Old Fatima Khan Detained for Allegedly Threatening UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
Fatima Khan, a 24-year-old IT graduate, detained in Mumbai for allegedly issuing a death threat to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Police report mental health concerns. Learn more about the incident and ongoing investigation.
Mumbai Police have detained Fatima Khan, a 24-year-old woman from Ulhasnagar, Thane, on charges of issuing a death threat against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Authorities report that Khan, who holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, is believed to be mentally unstable.
The incident began on Saturday, November 2, when Mumbai Police's Traffic Control Cell received a threatening phone call from an unknown number. The caller reportedly warned that Yogi Adityanath would meet the same fate as former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, who was recently assassinated, if he did not resign within ten days.
Baba Siddique, a leader of Ajit Pawar’s NCP faction, was killed on October 12 by three assailants allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The incident has raised concerns regarding the safety of public figures and prompted swift police action in response to the recent threats against Chief Minister Adityanath, who is also the head priest of the renowned Gorakhnath temple.
The investigation is ongoing as Mumbai Police work to determine further details surrounding the threat and Khan's mental condition.
