New Airline Fly91 Takes off with Air Operator Certificate
New regional airline Fly91 receives Air Operator Certificate, set to connect tier 2 & 3 cities in India under UDAN scheme. Connects Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, Nanded & Agatti with Bengaluru, Goa, Hyderabad & Pune.
Fly91, a new regional airline based in Goa, has been granted its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), paving the way for its launch.
This marks a significant milestone for Fly91, which aims to enhance air connectivity within India, particularly to tier 2 and tier 3 cities. The airline previously secured its first set of routes under the government's UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, aimed at promoting regional air connectivity.
Fly91 will initially connect Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, Nanded, and Agatti with Bengaluru, Goa, Hyderabad, and Pune. These routes cater to underserved markets and are expected to boost regional travel and economic development.
The airline plans to utilize ATR 72-600 aircraft for its operations, offering a comfortable and efficient travel experience for passengers. While an official launch date hasn't been announced, Fly91 is expected to begin commercial operations soon.
With the addition of Fly91, the Indian aviation sector is poised to witness further growth, particularly in the regional segment. This development is expected to benefit passengers by providing them with more travel options and potentially driving down airfares on these routes.
