Amit Shah reveals that 5 lakh Sahara investors have registered on the refund portal

Union Minister Amit Shah announced that within just a few days of launching the 'CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal,' an impressive five lakh investors have already registered on the platform. This portal was introduced to facilitate the return of funds to investors who were facing issues in four cooperative societies of the Sahara Group. The government had previously committed to returning the funds to investors within a span of nine months.

This initiative came into effect following a Supreme Court order directing the transfer of ₹5,000 crore from the Sahara-Sebi refund account to the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS).

During the launch program of the Common Services Centre (CSC) services by Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), Amit Shah shared the news of the portal's success, with 5 lakh registrations completed and the refund process for genuine depositors already underway.

The Union Minister highlighted that the commencement of the refund process is an excellent example of how proactive measures can effectively solve even the most complex problems.

The 'CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal' was specifically developed to facilitate claims submission by legitimate depositors of Cooperative Societies within the Sahara Group. This includes Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Hamara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, and Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited.
