Murder Accused of Indian Prisoner Sarabjit Singh Shot Dead

Amir Sarfaraz Tamba, the man accused of murdering Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh on death row in Pakistan, was himself shot dead by unidentified assailants today in Lahore.

Tamba, reportedly a close associate of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Saeed, was attacked by motorcycle-borne gunmen in the Islampura area. Though rushed to the hospital in critical condition, he succumbed to his injuries.

Sarabjit Singh was sentenced to death by Pakistan. He died in 2013 from a brutal attack by fellow inmates, including Tamba, while incarcerated at Lahore's high-security Kot Lakhpat jail.

The motive behind Tamba's killing remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing. This incident adds another layer to the tense relationship between India and Pakistan.
