Tragedy struck two Indian families as G Dinesh (22) from Wanaparthy, Telangana, and Nikesh (21) from Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, were found deceased in their Connecticut, US, accommodation just two weeks after arriving for higher studies.

Details surrounding the cause of death remain unclear, leaving both families bewildered and seeking answers. Dinesh's family received word of the tragedy from his friends residing nearby on Saturday night.

"We have no clue as to how he died," lamented Dinesh's family members, expressing their complete lack of information regarding his demise and that of his roommate, Nikesh.

Adding to the mystery, Dinesh and Nikesh became roommates in the US despite being childhood acquaintances with common friends. Both had arrived in Connecticut within a few days of each other in late December 2023.

Dinesh's family, desperate to bring their son's remains back home, has reached out to Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for assistance. Wanaparthy MLA Megha Reddy also offered support and visited the grieving family to offer condolences.

However, information about Nikesh and his family remains elusive. Neither Dinesh's family nor the Srikakulam district administration has any contact details or knowledge of his background. Efforts to gather information from the district collectorate have also proved unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, Wanaparthy MLA T Megha Reddy, upon learning of Dinesh's death, met with his family and contacted Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to expedite the repatriation process. The Chief Minister assured the family of necessary arrangements to bring their son's body back from the US.

This tragic incident casts a shadow of uncertainty over the two young men's lives and leaves their families grappling with grief and unanswered questions. As authorities investigate the cause of death and facilitate the repatriation process, the communities await further details and pray for solace for the bereaved families.
