National Film Award-winning actor Rishab Shetty has been roped in to portray the legendary 17th-century ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the upcoming historical drama The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film, directed by Sandeep Singh, will showcase the inspiring journey of the beloved Maratha king. The first look of the film was shared by Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh on Instagram, featuring Shetty in full costume, holding a sword with the Indian map as a backdrop. The film is set to be released on January 21, 2027, during the Republic Day weekend, in multiple languages.

Shetty expressed his excitement about playing the role, calling it an honor to portray Shivaji Maharaj, a national hero whose legacy has left a profound impact on Indian history. "Sandeep's vision for this film was so grand that I immediately agreed to take on the role," he shared. Director Sandeep Singh also praised Shetty, describing him as the perfect fit for the role due to his embodiment of strength and valor, qualities synonymous with Shivaji Maharaj.
