Ayodhya is gearing up for a momentous occasion - the consecration of Lord Ram in his child-like form (Ram Lalla) at the newly built Ram Temple. This historic event, scheduled for January 22, 2024, will be preceded by a week-long series of rituals and ceremonies, starting from January 16th.

The Temple Trust has released a detailed schedule for the seven-day festivities, which promises to be a vibrant and deeply spiritual experience:

January 16th: The consecration preparations begin with an atonement ceremony by the designated host, followed by a 'Dashvidh' bath on the banks of the sacred Saryu River. The day also includes rituals of Vishnu worship and Godan.

January 17th: A grand procession carrying the idol of Ram Lalla will traverse Ayodhya, accompanied by devotees bearing holy water from the Saryu in 'Mangal Kalash'.

January 18th: This day witnesses a series of important rituals, including Ganesh Ambika Puja (invocation of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Ambika), Varun Puja (prayer to the rain god), Matrika Puja (worship of divine mothers), Brahmin Varan (welcoming ceremony for priests), and Vastu Puja (auspicious ceremony for the temple's foundation).

January 19th: The rituals intensify with Agni Sthapana (establishment of the sacred fire), Navagraha Sthapana (installation of the nine planets), and Havan (fire sacrifice).

January 20th: The sanctum sanctorum of the temple undergoes a sacred cleansing with holy water from the Saryu, followed by Vaastu Shanti (prayer for peace and prosperity) and Annadhivas (feast for all).

January 21st: Ram Lalla receives a divine bath with 125 urns of water, followed by the Shayadhivas ritual.

January 22nd: The culmination day! After morning worship, the idol of Ram Lalla is finally consecrated in the auspicious Mrigashira Nakshatra (lunar constellation).
