Asia Cup 2023 Schedule - Dates, Teams, Fixtures and Venues Announced! Get ready for the action

The 16th edition of the Asia Cup is just around the corner, set to commence on August 31, with Pakistan and Sri Lanka co-hosting the prestigious cricket tournament. Six teams, including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal, will be competing for the continental title.

The participating teams are split into two groups: Group A comprises Pakistan, Nepal, and India, while Group B consists of Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. The top two teams from each group will advance to the 'Super 4' stage, where they will battle it out for a spot in the final, scheduled for September 17.

Among the thrilling matchups, all eyes will be on the highly-anticipated clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan. With the possibility of facing each other multiple times during the tournament, cricket fans are eagerly anticipating this intense showdown.

Sri Lanka holds the title of defending champions after their victory in the previous edition contested in the T20 format back in 2022. The upcoming Asia Cup, however, will be played in the ODI format and serve as valuable preparation for the participating teams ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023, commencing on October 5 in India.

The action will kick off with the opening match between Pakistan and Nepal on August 30 in Multan, Pakistan. The India vs Pakistan encounter will take place on September 2 in Kandy, adding further excitement to the tournament.

A total of 13 matches will be played, with four games hosted in Pakistan and the remaining nine matches held in Sri Lanka. The grand finale is set to take place on September 17 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, where the cricketing world will witness the crowning of the new Asia Cup champions.
